You either love them or hate them. Personally, I’m a lover of anything and everything avocado. This vibrant green, fatty fruit is beneficial in so many ways - from guacamole to sunscreen.
The use of avocados can be traced back as early as 5000 B.C. The Aztecs, Incas, and Mayans spread the fruit pulp on their skin for use in cosmetic applications. The Mayans of Guatemala used avocados to relieve diarrhea, prevent intestinal worms and parasites, and promote healthy hair growth. They obviously knew they were doing something right!
In a cosmetic use, avocado oil has many therapeutic properties such as anti-aging, detoxifying and regenerative. On a medicinal note, it has anti-bacterial qualities. When you think about avocado’s regenerative properties this is an ideal oil for anyone suffering with sunburns, eczema, dryness and rashes. We can see there are many fabulous properties that make using avocado oil well worth it.
Another important fact about avocado oil is it has a natural SPF. Does that mean you should slap on a layer of guacamole and head out for a full day in the sun? Uhmm …. No! On its own, you wouldn’t want to use avocado oil for sun protection, but when used in conjunction with other ingredients, avocado oil adds significant value to sunscreen products. Avocado oil can also treat damaged skin thanks to its PFA (polyhrydroxylated fatty alcohols). Studies have shown that PFA could repair skin cells already damaged by UV rays.
We use avocado oil in our All-Natural Skip & Go Naked Sunscreen Stick and our All -Natural Baby Sunscreen stick. They not only protect skin from the damaging rays of the sun but work great to soothe sunburned skin. Avocado is a precious and valuable fruit in more ways than one.

Sadly, we live in a world were physical human touch is rare. Though we may not think about it, human touch is desperately needed on so many levels. Why is this [...]
